Terms of use

Last updated 6 September 2026

These terms govern your use of www.quantcompose.com and, where you have been invited to it, the private beta workspace at app.quantcompose.com. By using either, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or the workspace.

What Quant Compose is

Quant Compose is a quantitative research and portfolio analysis workspace, currently in private beta. It is a research and paper-mode tool: it does not place trades, does not route orders to a broker or exchange, and does not provide investment advice. Nothing produced by the workspace — a backtest result, a risk statistic, a validation verdict — should be treated as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or financial instrument. See our separate disclaimer for the full statement of these limitations.

The website

The marketing website is provided to give an accurate account of the product, to accept applications for the private beta, and to answer enquiries. You may browse it and submit its forms for these purposes. You may not use automated means to scrape, copy, or republish its content at scale, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its underlying infrastructure, or use the site’s forms to submit anything unlawful, fraudulent, or intended to disrupt the service.

The private beta workspace

Access to the workspace is by invitation only during the private beta period. An invitation is personal to the email address it was issued to and may not be transferred or shared to grant access to someone it was not intended for. Your use of the workspace, once you have an account, is additionally governed by the acceptable use policy referenced from within the product, which sets out in more detail what is and is not permitted in a research and analytics environment handling your own data and analysis.

Because the product is in active beta, its features, method catalogue, and interface may change, and we will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes to invited researchers, particularly any that would affect saved projects or exported reports.

Intellectual property

The Quant Compose name, the website’s design and content, and the workspace’s software are our intellectual property or that of our licensors. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to that intellectual property beyond what is needed to use the site and, where invited, the workspace, for their intended purpose. You retain ownership of the data you upload to your own research projects and of the research outputs you generate from it; we do not claim ownership of your project data or your results.

Accounts and security

If you are invited to the workspace, you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for the activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately so access can be revoked. We support two-factor authentication for workspace accounts, and we recommend enabling it.

No warranty

The website and the workspace are provided “as is.” We do not warrant that either will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, and a research and analytics product of this kind will, by design, sometimes refuse to compute a result rather than produce one it cannot stand behind — this is expected behaviour, not a defect, and is described further in our disclaimer. Beta software in particular may contain bugs, incomplete features, or behaviour that changes between releases.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quant Compose is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or the workspace, including any loss arising from a decision made in reliance on research output produced by the workspace. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.

Beta feedback

If you are a private beta researcher, feedback you provide about the workspace — including bug reports, feature suggestions, and research logs you choose to share with us — may be used by us to improve the product without further compensation to you, unless we have separately agreed otherwise in writing. We will not attribute specific feedback to you publicly without your permission.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the website’s forms or to the workspace if you breach these terms, the acceptable use policy, or applicable law, or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the security or integrity of the service or to other users. You may stop using the website or workspace, and request deletion of your account and associated data, at any time by contacting contact@quantcompose.com.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and will update the date at the top of this page when we do. For a material change affecting the private beta workspace, we will make reasonable efforts to notify invited researchers directly.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@quantcompose.com.

Quant Compose is a research and analytics workspace. It does not place trades, route orders or give investment advice. Nothing it computes is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. The sample project runs on synthetic reference data that is labelled as such wherever it appears. Past performance, real or simulated, is not a guide to future results.
